This is a stellar all original 1926 TB3 Ball Bearing Banjo which has been converted to a 5 string.  The banjo has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description
This is a Ball Bearing TB3 that has all original parts other then the 5 string conversion parts (neck and tone ring).  This means original tension hoop, flange, hooks and nuts, armrest,tailpiece and L brackets, shell and resonator.  The tone ring is a Sullivan conversion ring and the neck maker is unknown however this is a true top quality and professional neck.  The finish on the resonator is original as well.
The shell is a thick maple shell and the neck is curly maple and the resonator is mahogany.  There is white binding on the neck and resonator.  The fretboard is rosewood with diamonds and this has high quality modern tuners.
This banjo definitely is a stellar example of a Pre War style 3, this has some top quality parts and is in fantastic shape.
Condition
This was very well taken care of and is in fantastic shape.  Since it is a Pre War I did not clean anything other than the fretboard which has been cleaned and oiled.  However the metal on this is in really good shape and does not look 100 years old.  The wood is in awesome shape with some checking but the finish is barely touched.  The frets show little wear and there are spikes at frets 7, 9 and 10.  The case is in good shape.
Set Up
This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.  The head is a Remo frosted head and is set to 90.  The bridge is a Snuffy Smith Bridge and the intonation is set.  The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and this plays GREAT!!!  This is a phenomenal banjo that will impress you.
