This is a very rare Top Tension Stelling Whitestar Banjo and very few Stelling Top Tension Banjos were built.  This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description
Geoff Stelling was inducted into the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame in 2020 and has been going in and out of retirement since.  No matter what Geoff Stelling will soon be leaving the world of banjo building for good which has caused a big uproar in tracking any Stelling Banjo down.  This is one of the most rare possible examples of a Stelling simply because few top tensions were manufactured.
This has a maple neck and resonator with an ebony fretboard that has snowflake position markers.  The hardware is all original and is top tension hardware that is nickel.  The flange is a one piece Stelling Ribbon Flange and the tone ring is a Stelling No Hole Tone ring.  This is a very powerful banjo.
The neck and resonator have brown stain which is original and this has w/b/w binding on each side of the neck and resonator.  The tuners are original 5 star planetary tuners and this has an original armrest and Stelling tailpiece.  This is a superb instrument that includes the original case and original warranty info.
Condition
This is in great shape with the only sign of wear being some button scratching on the back of the resonator which I have pictured.  The banjo otherwise is gorgeous and even the button scratching can only be seen in the right angle of lighting.
The hardware all looks great and has a nice shine and the finish has been waxed to a shine as well.  The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled and the frets are near perfect with spikes at frets 7, 9 and 10.  This banjo is in fantastic shape with a clean original case.
Set Up
This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse.  The head is a Remo frosted head which is set to 90.  The bridge is a Snuffy Smith Bridge and the intonation is set.  This has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set very well.  This plays great and has LOADS of volume.
Stelling Banjos are some of the best that have ever been built and the fact this is a Top Tension makes this a rare and very special banjo as far as tone and volume are concerned.  This is set up, cleaned up and ready to go.
