This is a very rare Stelling Golden Cross 5 string Banjo.  This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description
Stelling Banjos are some of the finest instruments that have ever been built.  Not only do the sound and play at the top level these are generally also works of art.  Every element of a Stelling Banjo is crafted to perfection and these are very special.  Not only that last year Geoff Stelling was inducted into the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame and is retiring this year.  There will be no more new Stelling Banjos made and these have gotten very hot, very hard to find and very expensive.
This has a Tony Pass Lost Forest Shell with all original Stelling nickel hardware.  This includes a no hole Stelling Tone Ring and an original Stelling ribbon flange.  The neck and resonator are a very nice cut of curly maple and each have binding and purfling on each side.  The fretboard is ebony with a deluxe Golden Cross inlay pattern with more inlay work on the rosewood peghead.  The truss rod cover is abalone and really sets this off.
This is a truly top quality, professional grade banjo that is all original and includes the original Stelling Hardshell Case.
Condition
This banjo was well taken care of and has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse.  This has been disassembled and all of the hardware buffed to a nice shine.  The finish has been waxed and also shines.  The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled with clean frets and spikes at frets 7,8,9, and 10.  The banjo is definitely gorgeous and the case is clean as well.
Set Up
This has also been set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.  The banjo has an original Stelling Frosted Head which is set to 90 on a drum dial.  The bridge is a Scorpion Bridge and the intonation is set.  The strings are new Huber Truetone .10's and this plays great!!!  This is set up for maximum tone, volume and playability.
