ANTIQUE EAPG BUTTER DISH NEW MARTINSVILLE, #716 REBECCA, JAPANESE IRIS 1911

Description

After researching this piece and using one of the best data bases in the world from the EAPG collectors group, I  am happy to say that I was finally able to contribute to it!  I have a covered butter dish by New Martinsville Glass Mfg Co., of West Virginia with a circa date of 1911.  The company was in business from 1900-1944 so this piece is fairly early.  The model number is 76 and was named "Rebecca" however it is now referred to as a Japanese Iris.  My version is clear with gold accents.
Condition: I would say the condition is very good.  I feel a couple of very tiny rough spots (more than see) and there is a tiny line at the edge of the lid.  I am not sure if it is a straw line, mold mark or something else but you have to go over it very carefully to see it and again, you feel it more than see.it. The gold is also worn in areas.  Considering its' age, I feel you will be very pleased.
The size is approcximately 5 1/2" tall by 8" across.
