Beautiful ODE Baldwin Professional Tenor Banjo. Rare!.
This is a beautiful ODE Professional Baldwin Tenor banjo. All original.
I’ve had it for many years and it’s been pampered in my possession. Kept in a climate controlled environment.
Many years ago a man from Banjo hangout forum who had records from ODE informed me that this very banjo serial number 814 was the very last banjo listed in their records.
I’m not sure anymore because it’s been so long but 1967 comes to mind.
It’s in perfect playing order. No wear to frets, straight neck and just perfect. There is one area at the heal where it looks like the owner before me may have had a strap that made some dings. I’ve added a picture of this circled in red. It does nothing to detract from this fine instrument.
The resonator back I removed because I just love the alloy body and didn’t want it to be damaged somehow. It is of course included with all the associated hardware to install it.
I most likely will need to install it for shipping.
The case is fine although a bit worn. You will see some protective foam pieces I made to secure the instrument snugly in the case when the resonator back is removed. Yea I’m a perfectionist. I’m only selling it because I don’t play much anymore due to hand damage. Someone else needs to have this wonderful machine. It’s loud and clear and the finest tenor I’ve ever played. I’ll answer any questions as best I can. My instruments are like part of the family and taken care of obsessively.
Shipping I’m not sure of the cost yet. So I’m saying .00 for now. If it’s less I will refund you. If it’s more I will pay the difference. It will be shipped super carefully and the case will be inside another box. Also there are some strings and another bridge (Everything in the pictures are included).
