Description
Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard (ESS) Banjo (1995) Maple. This is a copy of the Granada that was played by Earl Scruggs for a long time. This has a curly maple resonator on a 3 ply hard rock maple shell. The neck is also curly maple with an ebony fretboard. The fretboard has a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern with an extra inlay at the first fret. The hardware is nickel. Has a Kulesh tone ring. This is pretty close to that Earl Scruggs Sound. This is a great banjo purchased used from a small shop in CO about 6-8 months ago. Since then, I have bought a prewar Gibson Mastertone, and I am only selling since I have 3 banjos and 1 has to go. Comes with Gibson Hard Case. The banjo is currently priced a few hundred below what I paid, and with this site's fee, I'll be losing 0+. You may be able to find a better deal, from me, if you visit r.e.v.e.r.b, or banjohangout dot org's classifieds, both where I have good seller reviews. Feel free to message me for better pricing. Shipofwooks@hotmail dot org or dancampb28@gmail dot com. Below is a link to a video taken on the date I first played it. I realize my friend was being goofy and it is not the best video, but it demonstrates the sound fairly well. If the item does not sell this time around, I may record another better quality video, sans goofy friend. I've played a lot of banjos and this is one of the better ones I've played. Right up there with my prewar. Actually sounds a lot better than a bunch of prewars I was able to play last October. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QptRZS8WR3U
