Description
Gretsch Justice Brand nineteen fret quality Tenor Banjo made in the early 1930's. This banjo and its type is scarce. The banjo is in excellent condition for 1930's vintage. The banjo is also all original except armrest, strings and possibly the bridge. Three piece mahogany finished neck and double bound mahogany resonator. The neck finish is smooth and shiny. The resonator shines but has a few small scratches. The rim consists of a heavy die-cast flange that encircles a 3/8" wood rim. The flange has elevated somewhat at the heel end. There is a tone hoop that tops the wood rim over which the head is stretched creating an archtop. It has 24 bracket hooks. Engraved pearloid peghead. 23" scale. Bound fingerboard. Minimal fret wear. Friction pegs. Adjustable tailpiece. The banjo is 33" long, 10 3/4" head, and weighs 7 lbs. The neck is straight. Please see photos for additional details. Sold As Is. Comes in a worn period hsc with working latches and hinges. This is currently a very nice banjos and with the tone hoop, double bound fingerboard and resonator with 24 brackets was intended to be a quality banjo when made back in the 1930's.
