Scarce Gretsch Red Sparkle Tenor Banjo. Unknown manufacture date but looks to be post-war sometime in the 50's or 60's. The banjo appears to be all original except bridge and strings. The neck is straight. It is about 32" long; 10 3/4" skin head; 3/8" laminated wood rim; friction pegs; post-war 6-place adjustable tail piece and the banjo weighs about 3 lbs. Painted fingerboard with m-o-p dots. A decorative type of red sparkly veneer adorns the peghead and encircles the wood rim. A tiny circular blemish on rim veneer base side.
