    Description

    This antique Herschel Fenton five string  banjo is a restoration project for someone who knows
    more than myself.  The five bakelite material tuning pegs are present and each has a small mother of pearl decoration.  Four of the pegs are mounted at the top of the neck.  The fifth peg (smaller one) is mounted on the left midway up the side of the neck.
    The tailpiece made from a tan bakelite material is damaged.  Etched in it is an arrow pointing off to the upper left with an "M" shaped flag attached.
    There are two very small holes in the head.
    There should be 30 brackets attaching the head and three are missing.
    The neck is inlaid with mother of pearl in five places.  The the wood in the heel is stamped "Herschel Fenton New York".  Where the neck extends through the drum, on the back it is again stamped "Herschel Fenton New York".
