The trading & collecting of district badges have been a
MAJOR focus
of collectors of Scout memorabilia for a long time.  Youth and leaders alike attending Scouting Jamborees and other such events have traded such badges for decades.
Vintage camp blankets
were typically interspersed with these treasures.
This is one Scout collectible that I have never fully understood and do not collect.
