This listing is for a brand new Fishman Rare Earth Model Humbucker Banjo pickup that's still in the factory original FishMan box.
The Fishman Bluegrass Series Rare Earth Active Magnetic Banjo Pickup features a quiet humbucking coil, a powerful neodymium magnet assembly, and a specially designed preamp to strengthen and preserve the natural sound of your banjo. Fits dual coordinator rod banjos and may be modified to fit single rod banjos. Fishman recommends professional installation of the Bluegrass banjo pickup.

I have been through several pickups and clip on microphones I prefer the Fishman it's noise free and captures the actual sound of the banjo fairly well and better than the other pickups, Jones Hatfield, K&K, Schatten, that I have tried. Somebody on Banjo Hangout suggested placing the pickup 1/4" inch in front of the middle foot of the bridge under the head and I had good results with that. If you don't have good soldering skills you want to find somebody who does because the wires are super tiny and what you solder to is also small.".........

This one was relatively easy (if you know how to solder) to install, and it is by far the best sounding, most versatile and accurate pickup I've ever seen for a banjo. I play 5 string for both public and private gigs....all types of music with my Gibson Mastertone, and really enjoy the quality of sound this puts out.
