    Description

ToneKing tenor banjo manufactured by Wm L Lange in New York City for the New York Band Instrument Co. of the same city.  This is one of the Lange Craft models which line Lange started in about 1931.  The Lange patent is shown.  The Lange Craft and this similar private label ToneKing used Lange's 1930 rim with the wood shell surrounded by the metal flange.  The bracket hooks tighten vs the flange underside so no holes in the shell and no bracket shoes.  Please see photos which are part of the description.  The neck is straight.  The head is 11";  24 bracket hooks; 19 frets with 22 3/8" scale; and string height is 4/16" bass and 3/16" treble at fret 15 with 1/2" bridge.  I don't see a tone ring or hoop.  The banjo is finished in blue but looks blue/green to my eye.  It is not a new banjo in fact now going on 90 years old but is in good shape and very eye appealing.  Comes in chipboard case.  Sold As Is.  Shipping only to U. S.A. contiguous states.  Please make payment within 3 days from end of auction.
