    Description

Vintage  (1960's or earlier) Elton Brand Banjo Tailpiece n.o.s. in box
This is a new old stock Elton brand covered tailpiece with extension, model #769.  It comes in its original box.  Here is the opportunity to replace or upgrade the corroded tailpiece on a vintage banjo with a period correct but shiny new one. The hinged cover opens up, revealing the holes and hooks where up to 5 strings can be attached.  The "extension" refers to the piece of metal which extends toward the bridge of a banjo, holding the strings closer to the head, which creates more downward pressure on the bridge and helps tone and volume.  The L.A. Elkington Co of the Bronx, NY. started in 1920 or so and the company and trade name of Elton was sold in 1971. Elton manufactured over 100 different accessories for banjos and other instruments and bought part of the Wurlitzer Music company around 1927.
Shipping will be a USPS flat rate box for .00 to anywhere in the United States. Local ick-up is free if the tailpiece has already been paid for via PayPal. Please ask any questions you have   before bidding.
