Vintage Bacon Belmont 5 String Banjo

Description

The fine item you are considering is a Vintage Bacon Belmont 5 String Banjo. This cool vintage bacon Belmont banjo sports an 11” head, and while it’s in overall nice condition, it does have a few issues. The nitro body binding along the sides of the fingerboard is cracking and peeling up a bit, so this will likely need to be glued down or replaced to facilitate playing. Also, and this may be original to the manufacture, there looks to be a hairline crack on the inside ply of the body. It’s very tight and not going anywhere, and I can’t actually tell if it’s a crack or just where the wood was originally joined (see photos). Also, a serial number has been neatly engraved into the center post, and the banjo is missing two strings (I’d put new strings on anyway if I were the buyer as all these strings are very old).
