    Description

I had this listed a short while back but I dropped something and it went through the head.
The last picture shows the damaged head.
I was going to just replace the head but I just don't have the time.
So I have greatly reduced the price.
I believe it is from the 1950's.
It has the green nut on the truss adjustment.
From what I understand, that dates it to the 50's,
along with the cursive Kay headstock emblem that was
    used from 1948 to 1962.
Dating Kay guitars and banjos is not easy, so I am just giving my best
    guess from my own research.
    It has vintage Kluson tuners.
1 of the tuners is a Kluson Deluxe "single line" tuner. 1950's
The other three are Kluson Deluxe "double line" tuners. 1960's.
I assume they were an upgrade probably put on in the 60's.
    They work very well.
The tuners alone are very expensive.
    Kay Tenor Banjo. 19 fret.
Heavy instrument. Weighs nearly 7.5 pounds.
    No case is included.
I am experienced in packing and shipping instruments. It will ship Fedex.
The head has a small hole in it that has been there for years.
Banjo may need some fine adjustments here and there.
I am more of a guitarist and have not played much banjo but do understand
    playability of an instrument.
It has minor scratches and a little surface rust on the tuners and tailpiece.
    Everything functions very well.
