vintage Strad O Lin five string banjo R683 Royce ? strad-o-lin bluegrass

This is
a banjo. The headstock is branded ‘Strad O Lin’. I did a little internet research, and it seems these were originally made in New York by Oscar Schmidt from the 1930s to the 1950s. This one can’t be that old; it looks much newer. I found another thread on the web that said the maker is The Royce & Stradolin Music Company.
The pot / head is Remo brand, 11 inches diameter, and the banjo is 39 inches long. The scale appears to be about 27 ½ inches. The pot has 16 hooks. It has a resonator.
The head is intact, no breaks or tears. The bridge is good quality & the tuners work well.
Other than the nameplate, I see no identification on it anywhere, except a sticker on the rear of the head that reads ‘R683’.
The banjo appears to be all original. The tail piece also looks original. I see no maker’s marks on the tail. Very clean, no odors.
The action climbs a bit as you go down the neck.
I will include a chipboard case. It could probably use new strings.
It is an old banjo, and is not perfect. Being sold 'as-is'.
