We are not banjo experts, we do our best to correctly identify and describe what we see. A player has looked it over and gave us the opinion that it is a playable guitar. The vintage 1920's banjo is in good shape. There are a few minor scratches and scuffs, nothing major in our
opinion
for a
previously
used guitar. Neck is in good shape. The nut, frets and tail piece look original. Both the tuning pegs and the bridge are made by Grover. The resonator is on but a little loose, it is missing the bolt in the back to secure it down. It is loose, however, secure enough not to fall off while playing or carrying. Action is good, but it may need some new strings.
The case is in poor shape.
I
t is functional, opens and closes easily and tight, but it has seen better days. Exterior texture is coming apart. Wood is exposed in several places. Sheet metal has been put on some of the edges to repair and protect that area. The wood areas without the metal are starting to slightly warp. Handle is missing. Latch hardware is present and functional with some minor rust. There is a latch with a key lock, but we have no key for this. Interior is pretty worn, the velvet is worn off in a couple spots and is dirty. There is a sticker from 1935 inside. Compartments inside have collapsed due to age.
You may want to clean this to meet your standards.
